Full-Time Routesetting Position (32-40 hours)
Position Overview
– create boulder problems and routes with the intention of them being fun, interesting, and creative
– co-creating and collaborating with the rest of the team
– forerun routes and problems providing and receiving constructive feedback to setting team members
– take constructive feedback and make appropriate changes to the product
– wash any holds assigned by Head Setter
– Perform Basic maintenance tasks
– keeping the gym tidy of all routesetting tools and gear
– maintain an organized holds room
– participate in setting of competitions hosted by your home/main gym when needed
– participate in the Quarterly and Annual review process
Who are you?
You’re a competent, skilled professional. You are an experienced setter, with an understanding of climbing movement, knowledge and proficiency with setting tools and equipment, and a passion for the craft of routesetting.
Basic Requirements
– at least 1 year routesetting experience
– must be able to effectively forerun V5 and 5.12-
– capable of setting 2 routes in rope terrain
– capable of setting 5-6 boulders per day– strong understanding of climbing techniques and movement skills
– excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate professionally and effectively
– basic understanding of USAC rules, regulations, and policies
Preferred Skills
– 3 years routesetting experience
– must be able to effectively forerun V8 and 5.13
– USAC L1
Compensation
$23-$30/hour (commensurate with experience and skills)
$150+ monthly Health Insurance Reimbursement
